排雷-你的雅思口语是否能再洋气一些？

 

不知道有多少考生会这样回答考官的问题：

Q:

Why do you want to take a bus?

 

A:

It's convenient； 

 

 

 

Q:

Why do you like living in a city?

 

A:

It's convenient. 

 

 

诸如此类的还有：

Why do you like your home?

It's comfortable；

 

Why do you like the pair of shoes?

They are comfortable；

 

Why do you always stay in your room?

It's comfortable.

……

相信不用我多说，考生们自己也能够感受到，对于这种回答，考官一定能够听得懂，但是总给人的感觉就是差点意思，或者更甚点说，有点土。

其实convenient 和comfortable本身都是不错的词语，但是反复的使用总给人一种非常廉价的感觉，接下来我们就分析分析。

 

Convenient

其实方便无非就是省时间，省精力，所以从这个角度出发，我们完全可以用labour-saving 来替换，举个例子：

Why do you like living in a city? 

Well, how can I put it, you know, it's quite time-saving. Well, this is due to the fact that probably my home could be a stone's throw away from a subway station or whatever. To be specific, normally 5 minutes' walk can take me there. So really, city life is my cup of tea.

额，挺省时间的吧。因为我家可能离地铁站之类的就很近，确切说通常5分钟就到了。讲真，还蛮喜欢城市生活的。

 

Interesting

看书interesting，电视interesting，上课interesting，然后考官觉得你这孩子一点都不interesting....那咋办？建议换成intriguing 有趣的，如intriguing books, intriguing movie, intriguing class....

 

Good

Good本身无罪，但是每次很多学生一说到这个词感觉没脸见人。那怎么办呢？其实有一个很常见的方法，组合词法，比如good-temper，good-humoured，举个例子；The teacher has a good temper. 换成 a good-tempered teacher;  The boy has a good humour. 换成：a good-humoured boy. 显然会比单纯使用good要好太多了。
